For those of you that are big on the werewolf novels there is a new TV series based off Kelly Armstrong's 'Bitten'... four episodes in at the moment, Saturdays on syfy. Not too bad and pretty close to the book so far.. cept for adding in as much sex as possible.. CGI wolves are low budget but pretty good for syfy.

I saw one of the episodes, though I'm not sure which one because I didn't know how long the show had been on. Obviously early on in the season and really not much happened. To be honest I was a little disappointed because it seemed kind of slow to me. I remember liking the book but I have become a lot more picky with my werewolf literature since then. Given the chance I'll watch the rest of the series though, unless it ends up being really bad. I don't have cable though so I usually don't end up seeing stuff right when it comes out.

my impression so far is.. meh.. it's staying to the book as far as the murders are going, but it is rather slow paced, and highly chick oriented... but I've read the book and I'm 4 episodes in so.. I'll at least stick with it for Season 1... possibly get hooked because of some stupid cliff hanger at the end of the season and then have to watch season 2 if there is one. lol

Ooooh, thanks. I had no idea they'd made a show out of this book. I'll check it out, if it's on Hulu. If it's not, well, it sounds like I'm not missing much.

I've had to correct scores of Mainstreamers as to my attitude toward wolves and Werewolves. I'm not obsessed by either - I don't go around all day dwelling on furry creatures (four or two legged) and I'm not particularly motivated by personal taste to watch every Werewolf movie that comes out. In fact, I consider very few of them actually "good". I do, though, watch every popular Werewolf media item that comes out.
Unfortunately, whether you say "Therian" or "Were" (I've found the term "Therian" to be completely ineffective for what it was originally intended for - a politically correct term to use for us with Mainstreamers), the image others have of us is tainted by popular media. So it's of interest to me what popular media is saying about us - even if it's the fictional version of us.
