So here I am listening to my spotify and browsing FH, and I noticed something. Where's the music thread?
So what do weres like to listen too? I'm rather eclectic in my listening preferences. As I child of the 80s, I tend to listen to that quite a bit. In fact I have some Blondie playing right now. I also have DEVO, Pat Benetar, Talking Heads, and of course Weird Al loaded up on there too.
As we move into the 90s I'm a major fan of Green Day and also listen to Weezer, Nirvana, Korn, Godsmack and Smashmouth.
I love metal of any kind, but mostly Gothic and symphonic metal. The wife got me into a Gothic-Pagan-Vampire band called Inkkubus Sukkubus back in the day. Love Evanescence, Lacuna Coil and Nightwish too.
So what do I not listen too? I am not a fan of "Gangsta" Rap or Country. However I do like Southern Rock. That's about it.
Now it's your turns! ;D

I'm a metal/rock girl at heart and I really don't like rap or most country. I like some EDM/Techno/Dubmood, but really like it when they mix with Rock (Korn's Narcissistic Cannibal) favorite groups below ** mean I got to see 'em in concert. NIN ** Slipknot ** Tool ** VAST ** Korn Breaking Benjamin Pendulum The Heavy Glitch Mob Pusifer A perfect Circle Also worth mentioning.. All my life my dad has been big into Music, and when I was little was in a Bluegrass band called Stateline Playboys Now that we're both outta the house.. he's in a band called Styles Junction -- Check him out!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=F31oGIivVf0

A little bit of everything - I've never been able to click on punk rock or rap, although I have occasionally heard a rap that attracted my favorable attention. Most of my favorites have been crossover (Highwayman) and creative (Doobie Brothers - Blackwater, most of Jethro Tull, Beetles Elenore Rigby) I like classical music and folk music. I'm generally not impressed by an artists "greatest hits" and are more drawn to their lesser know works

Goodness, how could I forget the other side of my music coin and totally forget to mention Celtic music? Chieftains, Altan, Clannad, Emerald Rose, Coyote Run and Silly Wizard to name a few. There's just something about the beat of the doumbeck and the sound of the pipes be they Highland or Uilleann.
A pint o' Guinness and some of that playing behind me and I'm ready for some paw tappin' and tail waggin' fun! ;D

I like anything that either makes me want to sing and dance, helps me in a foul mood, or helps me when I exercise. So my tastes Flow all over the place from pop, to dance, rock to folk music. Arcanus if you like Celtic have you tried Julie Fowlis? There's also flogging molly, and English folk band the levellers if you haven't tried them yet

The last CD that I got (they do still actually sell physical CD's at some places for now...good luck finding a brick and mortar book store anymore, though) that I could just put in and let play through was Night Visions by Imagine Dragons. I'd say the song "Demons" off that is the closest to a were song I've heard in some time. "Nothing Left to Say" has a good tribal beat going, too. I just finished listening to it - it would be a good song for raising energy to. lol I already use it for cardio. And while I'm not a huge fan of most rap, Flo' Rida has become a good cardio buddy of mine, also.
