Green fabric got tacked up on a wall today, and a couple lights were put in place. I recorded some test footage, and chrome keying worked! I was able to put a nice background behind myself using Adobe Premiere. Sound dampening was also put on the walls. Future Therian Nation videos will look and sound more professional. No more seeing my bland kitchen wall. I do need a couple more lights to brighten the room. Or I should probably record more test footage during the day. Enough sunlight might come through the window.
Even though there has been a long delay since the previous video, Therian Nation will continue. There are so many topics to cover beyond the basic introductory information.

That's cool. I'm just starting with videos and I'm far from even considering green screen.
Do you have any specific topics in mind for the next few videos?

Yeah. Being in nature is very important to me personally, but this doesn't seem to be the case for all Therians. After I cover Psychological and Spiritual Therianthropy, I might ask the community if being in nature is significant to them. Maybe take a poll and get some numbers and share a few experiences or explanations as to why or why not if anyone wants to contribute.
Other topics include: Explaining the differences in Therians and Furries in more detail. I do want to make one video covering Otherkin identifying people a bit more. A couple videos that cover Therian history more in detail. This could include going over the Theta Delta symbol that most of the community uses. Better advice about how to determine if you are or are not Therian. The only advice I ever see it mediate. Also better advice about discovering/identifying a theriotype. Other than meditating. I want to discuss wearing "Therian Gear" such as ears, tails, collars, etc. Why wanting to be in a pack is good and bad. Or the pros and cons about it. Advice on how to tell friends and family. Some methods and advice about how to manage dysphoria and other negative stuff that happens to some Therians.
I had briefly discussed with you (Wolf VanZandt) before about presenting information in a way that is helpful to counselors and therapists with Therian and/or Otherkin clients. I'm still interested in doing that as well. Perhaps even designing brochures and documents that can be made publicly available for download through Therian Timeline's website and Therian Nation's Google Documents.

The last four articles that popped up for me on Google Scholar (I've flagged articles that contain the keyword "therianthropy") were about professionals dealing with fringe cultures. They would probably be of interest to you. I'm going to have to get them one at a time.

These are great ideas, and I am always happy to see people putting more info out there for people. I have some suggestions/advice: When it comes to Therianthropy, its best to give 2 explanations - 1 a non-biased overview of what the community is and is not (including all the different beliefs and perspectives from people who subscribe to spiritual, psychological, and/or biological explanations). And the 2nd is then to give your own personal take on the subject. I dont mean this for every topic, but when you do it this way, it helps everyone see a bigger picture of our community, and usually discourages arguments about people telling you that "you are misrepresenting". I think its also important to have maybe one episode on the great divide in our community, from the old school term Were community, to the PC therianthrope, and then to the split of old-schoolers going back to werecommunity when people started using the term therian to describe a more atheistic non-spiritual perspective for a certain group. Here are some other little personal perspectives on some of your topics: To me the main difference between Therianthropes and Furries is involuntary vs voluntary. Therians hate this but, technically we are a subcategory of otherkin. Otherkin literally means feeling that you are something other than human. But therians hate being lumped in with people who say they are actually Pokemon and trans-racial Japanese when they are white teens in middle america. :/ The classic "how do I know if I am..." Meditation is a great start! One thing I personally add is just not to worry if you are, or are not, because time will tell. Meaning, people who just want a place to belong and need to feel special, eventually if its not true, they get bored and move on to something new and hip. No one has been confused for 20 years in the community lol. But my observation is more based on people worried about posers, and less helpful to those who need help sorting out their world. Therian gear is new to me, I always just thought that was furry, shows my ignorance I suppose. The first time I wore a fake tail, it felt good, like a prostectic limb of something that should be there, so I really cant say anything I am looking forward to hear about managing dysphoria, I've never heard anyone tackle the subject of coping before. Looking forward to seeing you in action
